Here's a group that we support. It's the Patriot Guard Riders. They support our troups and their families. This is from their mission statement:
The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.
We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.
Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives.
1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.
2. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.
We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.
Myrtle Beach - Forget about it. It used to be one of the best events in the country, but they've decided to cancel the sponsorships and change to a policy of discouraging bikers from coming. Among the new rules, the idiots have issued an ordinance for bikers over 21 that requires helmets in opposition to state law, where helmets are a matter of adult choice! Want to trailer your bike? No parking on public streets.
We recommend boycotting the state entirely! Not one cent in revenue. Not by car, not by bike, not by plane. No golf, no beaches. They say they don't need the revenue. We say let them try to balance their budget without bikers, their friends, and their supporters.
Roosters Rally - This one looks interesting. Delhi, LA. March 12-15, 2009. Confederate Railroad, Kentucky Headhunters, Cajun and Zydeco music. Crawfish boil and Mardi Gras Festivities, and a $2500 Wet T-shirt contest too!

Junebug Boogie - June 18-21, 2009 - A great "small" party of 3000 or so in Tennessee. Many pics. Be warned! The local sheriff is against this party and you'll face a roadblock, both in and out, complete with dogs. If they want to search your vehicle, you have the right to refuse, however the dogs are allowed to sniff around the outside.
