I am so suprised to find that 50% do know and 50% do not know people who have been laid off because of this recession. I would have thought it would have much higher. Very interesting!

Well first our polling sample isn't large enough to be statistically significant. Second, our traffic is always light on the day of the Super Bowl.

The national stats are showing that only 30% aren't being affected in some way by this depression. (yes, I'm not afraid to use the D word!)

I know you're holding your breath about YOUR job. Know that L&M, Lois and I are keeping our fingers crossed for you!

I just checked the polls page again and now it's 88/12. Things always change. Watch it over the next few days and see if it changes again.

Re today's poll, if business are going to ask for hand-outs from the government, then they should be prepared to take direction from the government. Hopefully the $500k salary cap for CEOs will shorten the line of companies begging for free money in the name of fighting recession!
