I myself am against the raising of the minimum wage. If you stop and think about it, who does it actually help and who does it hurt. Those of us who make more than minimum wage doesn't get an increase in our wages. The companies and businesses that have to pay that wage increase will have to raise the prices of whatever they are selling or the services that they are providing to pay this wage increase. The companies that supplies the stores with products will have to increase their prices if they have to give a wage increase, who in turn will pay for this. Those of us who are already making more than minimum wage but did not get an increase in their wages are the ones who will have to pay for this. If you are already making $8.00 an hour and you go to the Supermarket and the cost of your groceries have gone up an extra $10.00 due to the Supermarket raising the prices of their products to cover the minimum wage increase, you just had a decrease in your wages, you are now making $7.75 an hour. Even if minimum wage goes up, the cost of everything else goes up to cover these increases. Even the minimum wage earner will have to pay the extra for their products they purchase, so did they really get a raise?
